So, I've been getting emails from Lion Brand Yarn. I have thoroughly enjoyed them. They have sales, patterns, ideas--it's really cool. The crochet square from the most recent email is super cute--I definitely want to make it. It would make an adorable baby blanket for a little girl (like my niece, Rocket!!). It looks flowery, so cute.
Also, this time I clicked on their podcast link. Wow! While I was doing other stuff on my computer, I was able to listen to people chat about knitting. Woohoo! It's like a radio broadcast. I've never really listened to podcasts before, so I'm sure there are tons of people who already know how cool they can be, but I was so happy to find it. I wish they had a new broadcast every day, but I'll take the once every two weeks if I gotta.
The podcast episode this time was about knitting Christmas gifts. I have been soooo burned out on knitting gifts. I really felt like I bit off more than I could chew when I thought about knitting something for everybody, but the podcast reminded me that I could do small projects, too. Also, I know I don't have to knit something for everyone, but if I could make something quickly, I might be able to do more.
My Frogged Shawl Cardigan that I am knitting is turning out beautiful. I'm using up scraps and small balls of yarn to make stripes, but I must confess that this design element is also a necessity--I only bought 6 balls of the mohair blend (to make the shawl) and I don't think that will be nearly enough, so by adding stripes, I can use less of the mohair. Still need to get pictures up.
